Prepares students to recognize, respond, and manage First Aid, CPR emergencies, and disaster preparedness training. First Aid, AHA Healthcare Provider CPR and 7 hour HIV/AIDS prevention certificates are awarded after successful completion of this course.

  6. State several common emergencies and the proper response to them.
  7. Perform procedures for breathing emergencies and cardiac arrest.
  8. Understand AIDS prevention theory.
  9. Use the external cardiac defibrillator.
  10. Understand disaster preparedness and how to be prepared for a variety of situations.
