Course Contents

  1. Read and demonstrate understanding of a simple outside reading book;
  2. Locate and understand main ideas and details in level-appropriate readings;
  3. Read simple instructions with sufficient comprehension to carry them out;
  4. Write short compositions in class or as homework (creative writing, picture writing, story completion, etc.);
  5. Write journals on a regular basis;
  6. Demonstrate the ability to find new words in an English-English dictionary;
  7. Demonstrate control of basic grammar, vocabulary, punctuation, and spelling skills.
