Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Create and modify styles and templates.
  2. Format academic documents with references (insert footnote/endnotes, citations, bibliography).
  3. Format multipage documents (create a table of contents and index, work with multiple sections, create a master document).
  4. Work with advanced graphics (modifying graphical objects; aligning, distributing, rotating, and layering graphics; and inserting watermarks).
  5. Create forms (construct a form template, add form controls, protect a form, and fill in a form).
  6. Prepare documents for workgroup collaboration (insert comments, track changes, compare documents, review documents, and protect documents).
  7. Customize Word (create macros, customize the Quick Access toolbar, create AutoText entries).
  8. Apply core-level and expert-level MS Word features to create, edit, and format a variety of document layouts with minimal instructions.
