Prerequisite: 2 credits from any WT course or Department Chair permission.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a familiarity with AWS welding codes, procedures, and qualifications.
  2. Interpret State of Washington (WABO) welder qualification testing standards.
  3. Prepare and weld plates for all position, unlimited thickness FCAW welder qualification test.
  4. Extract, prepare, and bend weld test specimens from one-inch carbon steel test plates.
  5. Pass FCAW welder qualification test in accordance with WABO 27-13-A.
