What are the changes?
Effective as of the Spring 2019 admission cycle, the nursing program will be using new criteria for the admissions scoring process.
- Score for the CNA/LPN/WORK/VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE will change to the following:
CNA/LPN/WORK/VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE in other direct human patient care interaction fields. Verfication form must be included. Points are not cumulative and will only be awarded for one category. Points (20 Max) will be awarded as follows:
|20||Valid copy of unencumbered CNA or LPN with 250 hours or more of verified work experience.|
|18||Valid copy of unencumbered CNA or LPN with 100–249 hours of verified work experience.|
|16||Valid copy of unencumbered CNA or LPN with 50–99 hours of verified work experience.|
|14||Valid copy of unencumbered CNA without work experience.|
|10||250 hours or more in the following fields (EMT, PTA, OTA, MA, Hospital Surgical Tech, Cardiac Tech, Respiratory Tech, paramedic) or honorable discharge from military as Medic or direct patient care or other Health Care worker and proof of 7 hours HIV/AIDS training certification|
|8||100-249 hours paid direct patient care healthcare experience and proof of 7 hours HIV/AIDS training certification|
|6||50-99 hours for volunteer or paid direct patient care healthcare experience and proof of 7 hours HIV/AIDS training certification|
*International students may use volunteer hours. Please check with the International Office for rules.
- Scoring for the GPA remains unchanged.
- Scoring for the TEAS remains unchanged.
