Helping Students Succeed!

SVC Academic Advising is a part of Counseling and Career Services. We are dedicated to promoting student success by helping students achieve their full academic potential. Academic advisors assist students with accurate information of college policies, course and program requirements, and identify and connect students with college services such as; counseling, tutoring, and other support services.

Our counselors provide an environment of encouragement and support that promotes a positive, rewarding experience at SVC. Counselors also assist students with career planning, and special populations counseling.

Advising Tools and Resources

New and returning students are encouraged to use the Online Student Toolbox to access registration functions, personal academic information, and other advising tools. Links to the Toolbox and other advising resources can be access by using the links on the left.

Appointments

New students should make an appointment with your advisor upon completion of the placement test. Our advisor will assist you in reviewing placement test scores, program planning and the registration process.  Returning, or current students should meet with your advisor on a regular basis for assistance in course selection and program planning. Please note that your registration appointment date is NOT your advisor appointment. It is for registration only. You must make a separate appointment to meet with your advisor.
