Advising

Advising is dedicated to helping students achieve their full academic potential and offers an environment of encouragement and support so you can have a positive, rewarding experience at Skagit Valley College. Advisors provide students with information on college policies, course and program requirements, and connect students to college services.

New Student Group Advising

After completing the placement test, the next step for new students is to schedule a two-hour New Student Group Advising session. The first hour is a presentation which provides an overview of Skagit Valley College student resources and policies to set you up for success. During the second hour advisors will assist students in reviewing placement test scores, program planning and registering for classes.

Schedule your New Student Group Advising session by visiting or calling the desired campus listed below:

Mount Vernon Campus

Transfer Student? Students who have attended another institution and are transferring less than 15 quarter credits to SVC are required to attend New Student Group Advising.
