Welcome to Visual Arts

The Associate of Visual Arts Degree is a two year degree program for the student who is interested in majoring in the visual arts at the university level, attending a private art school or earning a degree in the visual arts. This degree is directly transferable to Washington State University. Completion of the degree does not guarantee admission into the major. Under the supervision of an advisor students will follow selected course requirements for their major. Students will complete an intensive two-year program developing a portfolio and participating in a graduation exhibition. Students who take courses in the department have the opportunity to have their work exhibited in the Skagit Valley College Art Gallery, apply for department scholarships and receive credit for working with local museums and arts organizations in the community.
