Whidbey Island Campus Nursing Department
Thank you for your interest in the programs offered by the Nursing Department, Skagit Valley College, Whidbey Island Campus (WIC). Certificate in Practical Nursing:
The Skagit Valley College, Whidbey Island Campus Practical Nursing Program is State approved and four quarters in length for the full-time program and seven quarters in length for the part-time program. Graduates of this program receive a Certificate in Practical Nursing and are eligible to apply for the State Licensing Examination for Practical Nursing. A program interest list is maintained for this program.
LPN to RN (Second Year Associates Degree in Registered Nursing):
The Skagit Valley College, Whidbey Island Campus LPN to RN Program is the second year of the Associate Degree in Registered Nursing. The program is a state approved six quarters in length, part-time program. Graduates of this program receive an Associates Degree in Registered Nursing and are eligible to apply for the State Licensing Examination for Registered Nursing. A program wait list is maintained for this program.
Nursing Assistant and Aids Education, NURS 100:
Nursing 100 is a state-approved course that includes 35 classroom hours and 50 clinical hours of Nursing Assistant instruction and training. Upon successful completion of this course students receive a certificate of completion and are eligible to apply for the State Licensing Examination for Nursing Assistants.
