Skagit Valley College Sustainability Fair

During the spring of every year Skagit Valley College hosts its annual Sustainability Fair at the Mount Vernon campus location. The 2010 Sustainability Fair is being held May 10th thru May 13th.

The Sustainability Fair offers a full-day of events with vendors, demonstrations, presentations and informational literature. Activities typically include wind, solar, and biodiesel displays, hybrid and experimental vehicles, urban planning and mass transit information, as well as information on organic and locally grown produce. In addition, speakers give presentations on topics ranging from home weatherization to global warming. The fair also includes food and live music and is free and open to the public.

Ecology's working definition of sustainability

At its most basic level, sustainable means "meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."
