Sustainability Fair

Sustainability Fair

Skagit Valley College Sustainability Fair

During the spring of every year Skagit Valley College hosts its annual Sustainability Fair at its Mount Vernon campus location.

The Sustainability Fair offers a full-day of events with vendors, demonstrations, presentations and informational literature. Activities typically include wind, solar, and biodiesel displays, hybrid and experimental vehicles, urban planning and mass transit information, as well as information on organic and locally grown produce.  In addition, speakers give presentations on topics ranging from home weatherization to global warming.  The fair also includes food and live music and is free and open to the public.

At its most basic level, sustainable means "meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." This is Ecology's working definition of sustainability.
