Skagit Valley College Women's Programs is designed to promote the intellectual, educational and personal development of students by providing information, referral resources, personal growth opportunities, learning experiences and support services to students and community members. The Northwest Displaced Homemakers Center
Offers free Turning Point classes and workshops and intensive Career Exploration/Job Search classes to assist those individuals who have become sole supporters of their family because of divorce, disablement of a spouse, or separation.

CHILDCARE ASSISTANCE

Skagit Valley College has received a grant from the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges to help students with childcare costs.  If you need help with childcare costs while you attend Skagit Valley College, please contact Margo.Grothe @skagit.edu for the application form.  Or call her at 360-416-7762.

Leadership Project, Leading into Action

Fulfills Learning into Action requirements for transfer degree. May fulfill Cooperative Education requirement for a Professional/Technical degree with department permission. Students meet one hour each week to assess leadership skills and develop a plan for gaining or improving these skills. Students also apply leadership skills in a 30-hour project.

Additional services include:

  • Personal assistance in entering college, exploring educational and career choices.
  • Information and referral to community organizations.
  • Scholarship information.
  • Volunteer opportunities.
