Online Learning at Skagit Valley College has an active online learning program. We have many courses that are fully online, called Distance Education (DE) courses. These DE courses use the Internet to present content, conduct discussions, communicate with your instructor, take tests, work collaboratively with other students, and much more! This is done using Blackboard, a course management system. Regular ground-based classes can also use Blackboard for such things as posting assignments, providing an online grade book, conducting discussions, and so on. If you have a class that is using Blackboard, you will be given an account, a password and instructions on how to access your course. It’s a great tool, it’s easy to use and it can provide instant access to your course materials, even when you are at home. For more information visit our DE website.
