Rocio Almaraz: is a senior at La Conner High School. Rocio is a cheerleader and works long hours at Subway. She has many family responsibilities and still maintains a 2.6 GPA. She would like to attend Skagit Valley College for nursing and eventually receive a B.S.N. She will receive $2500 from KSVR Radio Bilingue to attend Skagit Valley College.

Maria Isabel Andrade: is a senior at Sedro-Woolley High School. Maria is a strong, independent young woman who lives alone and supports herself while completing her High School education. She will be the first one in her family to go to college. She will receive $1500 to attend Washington State University.

Leigha Beck: is a senior at South Whidbey High School. Leigha plays piano by ear, sings, composes music and choreographs hip hop, lyrical ballet, jazz, and tap dance. Having trained with professionals, she has already been offered a recording contract. She will receive $3000 to attend The Evergreen State College.

Monica Bravo: is a senior at Burlington-Edison North Alternative High School. A great role model for Hispanics, Monica tutors and interprets as well as volunteers in blood drives and the "Toys for Tots" program. She plans to attend Skagit and earn a bachelor's degree in education. She will receive $1000 to attend Skagit Valley College.

Anna Bromberger: is a senior at Sedro Woolley High School. Anna is a member of Ocean Bowl, a volunteer extraordinaire and the organizer of the Martin Luther King assembly. She has taken numerous AP classes and plans to study oceanography at a university. She will receive $2000 from the North Cascades/Olympic Science Partnership of the National Science Foundation Grant to attend Skagit Valley College or Western Washington University.

Estephanie Carillo: is a senior at Mount Vernon High School. Estephanie, an AVID student, is president of the multi-cultural club and has participated in student government. An active member of the Student Leadership Program, she is on the dance team and serves as basketball team manager. She will receive $1000 to attend Skagit Valley College.

Yesica Casillas: is a senior at Mount Vernon High School. Yesica, awarded the Migrant Bilingual exemplary student award, belongs to MEChA and the Leadership Program. She volunteers as a translator through her church and plans to earn a B.A. in Business. She will receive $1000 from MEChA and Skagit County Community Action Agency to attend Skagit Valley College.

Luis Castellanos: is a senior at Sedro Woolley High School. A member of the varsity soccer team, Luis coaches a youth soccer team. He interns at Skagit Valley Medical Center and has completed upper level academics to pursue his dream of going to medical school. He will receive $1500 to attend Washington State University.

Juan Corrales: is a senior at Mount Vernon High School. Juan is vice-president of the Technology Student Association. A member of the Boys & Girls Club, he is a positive role model for younger children. An AVID student, he is bilingual and plans to study architecture. He will receive $1000 from Kulshan Creek Neighborhood and Calling All Colors to attend Skagit Valley College.

Maria Galindo: is a senior at Mount Vernon High School. Maria, an AVID student, works with first graders at Madison Elementary School as part of the Careers in Education program. She is involved in the Student Leadership Program and plans to study business. She will receive $1000 from Allstate/Aseguranza Sylvia Cuevas to attend Skagit Valley College.

Ana Garcia: is a senior at Sedro Woolley High School. Ana has overcome challenges with the English language and has earned a 2.8 GPA. She volunteers with the Kiwanis Club and Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoys children and plans to be a pre-school teacher. She will receive $1000 to attend Skagit Valley College.

She is excited to use her bilingual skills with children and believes her experiences will help to motivate other children to do well in school. She will receive $8000 from Headstart Latino Service Partnership Grant to attend Skagit Valley College.

Orlando Garcia: is a senior at Sedro Woolley High School and a Running Start student. Orlando is a student mentor and Peer Helper who interprets for Spanish speaking students. He is the communication contact for his father's business. He plans to earn a business degree from a university. He will receive $2000 to attend Western Washington University.

Rosario Gonzales: is a senior at Burlington Edison High School. Rosario is a very giving person who volunteers at the public library and writes Christmas cards to the elderly. She is a young mother who returned to high school this fall to finish her diploma requirements. She will receive $1000 to attend Skagit Valley College.

Adilene Granados Rodriguez: is a senior at Burlington Edison High School. Adilene has collected hurricane relief funds for families in the Yucatan Peninsula and volunteered in her church to assist in the child care area. She plans on becoming a nurse. She will receive $1000 to attend Skagit Valley College.

Raymond Koopmans: is a senior at Mount Vernon High School. Raymond is a member of the multicultural club, supports the soccer team, and has volunteered to help neighbors and friends in the community. He works in the summer literacy program and plans to become a pediatrician. He will receive $1500 to attend the University of Washington.

Kathryn Luera: is a senior at Burlington Edison High School. Kathryn is in the top 15% of her class with a 3.72 GPA. She is a Girl Scout, lead mentor, and a member of Key Club and Honor Society. Her career goal is to become an elementary teacher. She will receive $2000 to attend Western Washington University.

Alexandra Malidore: is a senior at Emerson High School and a Running Start student. Alexandra has participated in Student Leadership Council and demonstrated an exceptional commitment to school and community service. Her goal is to complete a transfer degree. She will receive $3000 to attend The Evergreen State College.

Amighanne Mendoza: is a senior at Oak Harbor High School. Amighanne is active in the Fil-Am Association of Oak Harbor and the high school Cultural Dance troupe. She also volunteers with English Language Learners. She plans to become a nurse. She will receive $1000 to attend Skagit Valley College.

Aguster Montgomery (NO PHOTO): is a senior at Burlington Edison High School. Aguster is a varsity basketball player who volunteers at youth basketball camps. He goes out of the way to assure everyone is treated fairly. With a 3.3 GPA, he plans to attend a university to study sociology. He will receive $1500 to attend Washington State University.

Miguel Morales: is a senior at Burlington Edison High School. Miguel has intense pride in his culture and participated in the Seattle immigration rally. Academically, he works hard and his grades show it. He loves to draw and plans to become an industrial engineer. He will receive $1000 from Carlos R. Ordóñez Memorial Scholarship to attend Skagit Valley College.

Natalie Navarro: is a senior at State Street High School. Natalie is bilingual and has worked as an interpreter. She is a certified C.N.A and has been hired at "Where the Heart Is". She plans to graduate and attend the nursing program at Skagit Valley College. She will receive $1000 to attend Skagit Valley College.

Katherine Paul: is a senior at La Conner High School. Katherine is a member of the Swinomish Tribe and a 4.0 student. She is an accomplished pianist, athlete, and science activity participant. She plans to study anthropology and women's studies at a university. She will receive $3000 to attend The Evergreen State College.

Carolina Ramos: is a senior at La Conner High School. Carolina helps with the school PTA and volunteers at the Quilt Museum and the Historical Museum. Carolina is in honor band, on the soccer team and works two jobs. She has a 3.9 GPA and plans a career in the health field. She will receive $2000 to attend Eastern Washington University.

Isabel Rodriguez (NO PHOTO): is a senior at Mount Vernon High School. Isabel, an AVID student and active MEChA member, was class president and attended the Migrant Leadership Conference. She is a member of the yearbook staff and a positive role model for younger students. She will receive $1500 to attend Washington State University.

Bonifacio Sanchez: is a senior at Sedro Woolley High School. Bonifacio is on the varsity soccer team, in the welding club, F.F.A. and F.B.L.A. He serves as a translator in school and community and volunteers at his church. He would like a career in the medical field. He will receive $2000 to attend Western Washington University.

Eric Sanchez: is a senior at Sedro Woolley High School. Eric is the student representative for school board meetings, a Natural Helper and a Freshman Mentor. He works outside of school, maintains a 3.4 GPA and plans to get a B.A. in Accounting and then go to Law School. He will receive $18,000 to attend Central Washington University.

Jasmine Sanchez: is a senior at Mount Vernon High School. Jasmine, an AVID student, is vice president of the multi-cultural club and co-captain of the dance team. She translates at parent meetings and volunteers at Madison Elementary. She plans on becoming a children's dentist. She will receive $1500 to attend the University of Washington.

Evaristo Solano: is a senior at Mount Vernon High School. Evaristo has faced incredible odds, but he has risen above it all, to become a strong, young man and student. He has been captain of the wrestling team and is a middle school coach. He plans to study architecture. He will receive $2000 to attend Western Washington University.

Adriana Suarez Nolasco: is a senior at Sedro Woolley High School. Adriana works as a tutor for elementary ESL students, is on the varsity basketball team and is a member of F.F.A. and Spanish Club. She volunteers at her church and would love to become an ESL teacher. She will receive $2000 from the North Cascades/Olympic Science Partnership of the National Science Foundation Grant to attend Skagit Valley College or Western Washington University.

Heriberto Torres Sanchez: is a senior at Cascades Job Corps and State Street High School. Heriberto is a leader not only in high school but, in all areas of campus life, his trade, and his dorm. He has completed the Painting Apprentice program and plans to go into Social Work. He will receive $1000 to attend Skagit Valley College.
