Calleen Coorough, Department Chair
Dr. Coorough has been teaching computers, technology, software, and multimedia courses for twenty four years. She is currently the Chair of the Multimedia & Interactive Technology Department at Skagit Valley College. Prior to coming to SVC, she taught at the University of Idaho and Lewis-Clark State College.
Calleen is a proponent of online education, distance learning and virtual universities. She has been teaching online classes since 1996 and has developed online curricula for the courses offered within the Multimedia & Interactive Technology Department. She has written several multimedia textbooks and has developed a number of supplemental materials.
When she is not in front of her computer, you can find Calleen playing with her son, Declan, or hiking a nearby trail.
Rob Copeland, Advisory Committee Member
Rob Copeland is a graduate of the Multimedia and Interactive Technology program at Skagit Valley College. Rob has been building custom ASP.NET Websites and IDX Real Estate Web Solutions since 2000. He has over nine years experience in building custom Web applications using Microsoft's Classic ASP (Active Server Pages), ASP.NET, VB.NET,AJAX, and SQL Server Technologies.
As the owner and operator of Skagit Media Productions he listens to what people want in their websites and builds them to their specifications. He is passionate about Web technologies, especially server and client-side technologies like ASP.NET and AJAX.
Toni Camarillo, Instructor
Toni was born and raised in Manila, Philippines and moved to Southern California during her early college years. She's now a happily transplanted ex-city girl who lives on a beautiful Pacific Northwest farm with her husband, Joe and her 3 favorite models, her children Ellya, John & Kailyn. In addition to taking beautiful photographs, Toni has a strong creative background with an eye for styling, art directing, casting and producing seamless shoots. Prior to her career as a Photographer, Toni worked as a Multimedia Designer, Art Director and Graphic Designer for an advertising agency and a magazine. Currently, she teaches Digital Photography at Skagit Valley College as an adjunct faculty member and is co-owner and principal potographer of Tonic Design Studio Photography based in Skagit Valley, Washington.
Toni believes that emotional, clean and classic images will stand the test of time. I really do try to keep it as simple as possible and focus on shooting lots of emotion, storytelling compositions and human relationships from the heart. I not only enjoy making every single person who steps in front of my camera feel beautiful, I also enjoy releasing life into their spirit by inspiring them to become the fabulous person they were created to be.
Eve Deisher, Instructor
Eve has been involved in the arts as an artist, arts administrator and educator for over thirty years. She has been teaching children and adults at art centers, universities and at the community college level since 1990. She prefers teaching in the community college environment because of the diversity of the student population.
Outside of the academic world she was employed as an administrative assistant at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and at the Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial, the art school administered by the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Her formal training and education began in the early 1970s by attending the Epsom School of Art and Design, Epsom, England. I received my B.A. in Art History/Studio Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University and also attended Graduate Studies in Museum Studies. She graduated in 2004 with a Masters in Adult and Higher Education at Western Washington University.
Shane Gildnes, Advisory Committee Member
Shane Gildnes is a software programmer and multi-media producer from Burlington, Washington. Shane has over 20 years experience in professional software development and media production.
In the 1990's Shane was part of the management team for Seattle Lab makers of the first email server for Microsoft Windows. He worked as the web consultant for two books published by Microsoft Press: "Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 Step by Step" and "Microsoft Front Page 97 Step by Step."
Over the last decade, Shane has provided project management expertise and User Interface design for several large-scale eCommerce projects.
During nights and weekends Shane plays guitar and sings in the rock band Fanny Alger. Their latest album was recorded at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Currently, during the days, Shane is Vice President of Technology for the PreViser Corporation, a company that develops software for dentists all over the world.

Lucas Hansey, Advisory Committee Member
Luke Hansey grew up in several areas of Washington State including Bellingham, Yakima, Longview and finally Mt Vernon. He developed a passion for computer technology early in life and excelled in internet/networking classes in high school. Starting his senior year he worked at The Skagit Valley Herald in Interactive Media, eventually becoming the manager of the department.
After graduating high school, Luke attended Skagit Valley College earning a degree in Computer Information Systems. He has been co-owner of a Web development company for the last 4 years and is now part of the Information Technology team at SVC. Luke is an avid Husky fan, enjoys playing soccer recreationally and taking walks in the valley with his fiance and chocolate lab, Lucy.
Ran Hinrichs, Advisory Committee Member
Ran Hinrichs is the CEO of 2b3d Studios, a virtual worlds and serious games company. Ran holds several patents in emerging technology with Microsoft Research. His innovations include avatar-based learning and immersive psychology. Ran also has a faculty position at the University of Washington’s iSchool where he teaches Immersive Information Environments. His current work focuses on serious gaming and virtual reality immersion. Both his company and active teaching occur only in virtual worlds. His recent work includes The Oxford Handbook of Virtuality (2014). Engaging the Avatar (2012), and Transforming Virtual World Education.
Mike Murdock, Instructor
Mike Murdock is an adjunct instructor in the MIT Department. He currently teaches MIT 260 - Search Engine Optimization, MIT 270 - CMS Fundamentals, MIT 227 - Adobe Premiere Pro, and MIT 212 - Digital Videography. He is also the graphics designer and webmaster for the Student Life office. Prior to becoming an instructor for the MIT Department, Mike served as an Advisory Committee Member for the MIT Department.
Mike has an ATA in Multimedia and Interactive Technology and a BA in English Literature. He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and was honored with the 2006 Outstanding Student Award from the MIT Department at Skagit Valley College.
Rebecca Murray, Advisory Committee Member
Rebecca Murray is owner and operator of Skagit Media Marketing, LLC, a Skagit-based company that creates original online content with an emphasis on video production. Rebecca’s background as a sales manager, director, and technician, coupled with a highly creative mind, allows her to provide a unique service experience to her clientele. The company also offers group and private courses to non-profits and business owners on video production basics. Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, at Davis.
