SVC Foundation Scholarship Information
The Skagit Valley College Foundation offers a wide variety of scholarships each year to eligible students. To apply; please click on the "Scholarship Application" link, print out the application form, complete the form and return it, with the required essay attached, and return it to the Financial Aid Office. Applications for the 2008-2009 academic year will be accepted from January 21st, 2008 until 5:00pm on March 21st, 2008. No early or late applications please.
Applications for the Sidney S. McIntyre, Jr. Skagit Valley College Memorial Scholarship are being accepted now through February 22nd, 2008 at 5:00pm. This scholarship is for students majoring in the basic or applied sciences that were enrolled fall '07 or are enrolled winter '08 and are planning on transferring to a four year public university in the state of Washington. The student must have a cumulative college level GPA of 3.0 or higher. (Other criteria may apply.) This is a separate application from the above Foundation Scholarships, and eligible students can pick up an application packet at the Financial Aid Office.

To apply for any of the Foundation Scholarships you must complete only one scholarship application and submit it to the Financial Aid Office along with a one-page, single-spaced essay about yourself. Only one application will be accepted. Your application will be considered for any of the Foundation Scholarships you are eligible for. Scholarship recipients will be notified of their award at the Honors Reception. If you are not selected for a scholarship you will not receive any notification. Scholarships will be awarded based on information provided on the application. Changes to the information on the application will result in an eligibility review by the Scholarship Committee.
The Financial Aid Office keeps an ongoing list of scholarships offered by private organizations. The list is updated on this website as new scholarship notifications are received. Your local library should also contain a selection of books containing lists of scholarships you may be eligible to apply for. Ask your librarian for assistance.
