Compass Test Procedures
Location: Old Main Room 125
Steps for test participants:
1. SVC Students: Student Identification Number is required. Apply online at Online Application or submit application to the Registration Office, Old Main Room 116.
NON-SVC Students: Social Security Number is required. (No application is necessary.)
2. A. First time testing is free. Test results are good for 3 years then the student must retest.
B. If a student wants to retake the COMPASS, they must pay $15.00 at the cashier’s window before scheduling a testing appointment.
C. Students who paid to test prior to July 1, 2008 but missed their testing appointment can request a refund if testing after July 1.
3. Take receipt to the Student Services Office, Old Main Room 100 to schedule test date and time. Students paying over the phone need to pick up their receipt from the Cashier’s window before entering testing room.
Compass is an un-timed test (approximately 2 hours). Upon completion SVC students may schedule an advising appointment with the Student Services Office.
Bring your receipt and picture identification with you. The receipt is your admittance to the test. Arrive 15 minutes before scheduled test time.
If you are late you will have to reschedule.
The COMPASS test is a placement test which includes a computerized calculator or you may bring your own calculator (will be approved by proctor).

Test times:
Monday 1:00 pm & 5:00 pm
Wednesday 1:00 pm & 5:00 pm
Do not bring the following to the test:
Books, cell phones, pagers, children, notepaper,
portable tape, CD player, or radio. Pencils will be provided.
If you have a financial need, see the Student Services Office representative to obtain a fee waiver, in lieu of the test fee.
Bring receipt/waiver with you to schedule an appointment at the campus or center you plan to test at.
