Services to Students
Tutoring
There are two types of tutoring available on the Whidbey Island Campus.
College Success Skills Classes
These classes, along with one hour study skills classes that can be attended on a drop in basis, are open to all students. Your TRiO counselor can provide you with further information about these courses that will help you learn the study strategies used by our most successful college students and how to make use of our campus technology to excel in classes.
Basic Computer Skills Classes
Ask your TRiO counselor about the basic computer skills class that is offered twice a year.
Academic and Transfer Advising
We help you create long-range and quarterly class schedules to complete your degree and prepare you for transfer. University visitations are also available.
A Plan for Success
You can find the best way to fit your strengths, weaknesses and particular living situation into an individualized plan for success.
Guidance Services
Your TRiO counselor will take the time to listen to your concerns and help you find effective solutions. They are familiar with the new demands and unfamiliar challenges that college often brings.
Financial Aid Assistance
Your TRiO counselor will help you understand the financial aid and scholarship process and serve as advocates within the system. Additional special funding may be available to eligible students.
Unique Services
You will be provided with "in-depth" assistance that is not to be found elsewhere on campus.
What makes our program effective?
You will get to know our staff personally and receive individual attention should difficulties arise.
Comprehensive Services
Our staff will introduce you to people and programs, both on and off campus which can prove to be of great help.
The TRiO Gazette
The TRiO Gazette is published quarterly and is mailed directly to TRiO students' homes.
