OUR FACULTY

Bob Malphrus

      • Bob graduated from WSU with a BA in Communication and continued on to earn a Masters of Education from City University.  He has worked for over 20 years in the chemical dependency counseling field.  He has been a fulltime faculty member since 2005. Bob is the Department Co-Chair and students interested in entering the CD track should contact him.

Jere LaFollette

      • Jere LaFollette is a full time faculty member and co-chair in the Human Services program.  He has a Master Degree in Social Work from the University of Washington and a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of California at Berkeley.  Jere has more than 30 years experience in community mental health and juvenile justice programs.    Jere oversees the Generalist track of the Human Services program.

Jim Halpin

      • Jim Halpin is the Assistant Director of Chinook Enterprises and an adjunct faculty in the Human Service program.  Jim brings charisma and energy along with his years of experience to his class.  Jim teaches Introduction to Rehabilitation in the spring.  He has been an adjunct faculty member for more than 15 years.

Greg Bauer

      • Greg is the co-owner of Alpine Recovery Services in Arlington and Lynnwood.  He has been a chemical dependency counselor for over 20 years with experience in both in-patient and out-patient settings.  He is a member of the Chemical Dependency Professionals of Washington State (CDPWS) and Washington State Association of Independent Outpatient Providers (WSAIOP).  Greg brings to the program brings a wealth of real world knowledge to our program. 

 

 

THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Human Services Advisory Committee members are past graduates and/or professionals in the field of Human Services.  Our membership represents both public and private sectors.  The committee is advises the faculty and staff on the current trends and focuses within the professional community.  They are active participants in helping guide and improve our program.  Below are the members of our Advisory Committee.

Rob Martin

      • Rob Martin is an adjunct faculty member.  Rob is the director of Chinook Enterprises and brings a wealth of case management and inter-agency cooperation knowledge to our program.  Rob served as an adjunct faculty member for over 20 years.  

Bob Hicks

      • Bob works with Skagit Youth & Family Services.  He has been professionally involved with Human Services for over 20 years and a member of the Advisory Board for ten years.

Tom Rose

      • Tom is a graduate of the SVC Human Service program who went on to complete a Bachelors of Arts degree in Human Services from WWU.  Tom has been involved with SVC for the past year in roles such as classroom assistant and is currently the Chairman of the Advisory Board.  Tom is currently a manager with Skagit State Bank. 

D'arcy Centeno

      • D'arcy is a graduate of the SVC Human Service program and is currently the Office Manager/Transportation Coordinator for Triangle/RGI Van Service which is a Medicaid Transport provider.  While a student D'arcy was the coordinator of the Peer Mentoring program and the Coffee Club.  She is a valued member of the Advisory Committee. 

Corky Hundahl

      • Corky is a graduate of the Human Service program who pursued her dream of opening her own drug and alcohol treatment program.  That dream is alive today and is known as Phoenix Recovery Services.  Corky's experience in the field and her willingness to provide a quality program make her a respected member of the Human Services community and the Advisory Committee.

David Wilder

      • David is a strong advocate and voice for people with disabilities.  David is also a valued employee of Chinook Enterprises and member of our Advisory Committee.  He has started his own advocate organization called People First of Skagit County.  David is working very hard to make this program a success.  If you would like to help People First in any way please contact David via email.

Rose Ness

      • Rose is the Clinic Services Manager at Pioneer Center North.  Rose is a CDP and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years of experience in Human Services.  She is the newest addition to our Advisory Committee and we welcome her experience. 

Greg Bauer

      • Greg and his wife Lynn Dee are the owners of Alipine Recovery Services in Snohomish and King counties.  Greg has been a chemical dependency professional for over 19 years.  He has been a guest lecturer in our classes for several years and has been an advisory member for one year.
