Basic Law Enforcment Reserve Academy
Skagit Valley College offers a Basic Law Enforcement Reserve Academy that is certified by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission. This 270-hour program meets Wednesday nights and all day Saturdays, providing cutting-edge training from experienced police professionals. Curriculum includes emergency response driving, defensive tactics, firearms, tactical communications, and more.
To be eligible for this program, you must be 21 years of age or older, be physically and mentally fit for service, be sponsored by a participating law enforcement agency, and undergo an extensive criminal history and background check.For additional information on this new and rewarding Academy experience, contact the Criminal Justice Department Chair, Bill Overby.
