Test Results
For each of the five tests you must score at least 410 points to pass. To get your GED Certificate your total for all five tests added together must AVERAGE 450 points. If you fail to get the necessary points, you can retake any of the tests two more times in a calendar year (January to December). You must finish all of the original five tests before you can retest. When you pay for these tests, please tell the cashier it will be a retest. As in your first test, your receipt must be presented to show fees have been paid before you can be tested.Test results will be mailed within 24 hours, except for the Writing test. Writing tests are sent from all over the state to Colorado and they are scored there twice each week. Expect to wait two weeks before you get this score. If you have passed all your tests, your certificate will be mailed to you. If you are retested, only the highest score will be recorded.
If, at some later time, you want a copy of your test scores sent to you, notify this testing center in writing. If you are entering a college and want the scores to be official, they can be sent straight to the college. If you want the transcript of scores sent to you, it must be left, unopened, in the envelope for it to be official. A $4.00 fee will be charged for each of the following: an official transcript and/or a duplicate certificate.
