Earn College Credit During High School

The San Juan Center serves students from all over the islands seeking to earn college credit during high school. Running Start students must have a 2.25 high school grade point average and must have earned enough credits to have junior standing at their high school. All students who take classes through Running Start must take the ASSET placement test for English and math. Contact the college to schedule an appointment to take this test.

We recommend that students who are considering the Running Start program schedule a appointment with their high school counselor and with the San Juan Center advisor sometime in the spring before the year in which they plan to enroll. It is a good idea for the student's parents to come to the college meetings so that they can help the student make the decision whether to take courses through Running Start.
