Title: Sea Kayak Exploration

Description:
This kayak-based class combines Marine Biology/Natural History and Physical Education. After two days in the classroom, students will embark on a ten day kayak tour, exploring and studying the marine ecology of the San Juan Islands, learning how to sea kayak, and applying nutritional and physical fitness concepts. No prior kayaking experience is required. A $575 fee includes kayak rental, paddling equipment, en-route camp fees and meals.

Description and Prerequisite:

This course addresses issues of physiological and psychological well-being. Topics to be discussed include nutrition principles, fitness parameters and stress management. Techniques are presented to help the student incorporate a total health and fitness program into their lifestyle.

Prerequisite: None
