The Pharmacy Technician program prepares students for the role of support personnel in the hospital, clinical, home health care agencies, mail-order and retail pharmacies. Working under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, Pharmacy Technicians provide assistance to the pharmacist in a variety of tasks involving the packaging, distribution, compounding, labeling, and recording of drugs.

SVC announces Honor Roll for Fall 2018

In support of student success, Skagit Valley College is pleased to announce the Academic Honor Roll for Fall Quarter, 2018. To qualify, students must maintain a 3.75 or higher grade point average while carrying 12 or more credits.

Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Management priority application kick off

Skagit Valley College’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Management (BASAM) is pleased to announce that the priority applications are now being accepted for the 2019-21 program, which begins in Fall 2019. The program has its own admissions process and applications are available by attending an information session. Information sessions will take place weekly in January and February and include opportunities to learn about the program and meet with program faculty. Women’s Funding Alliance is pleased to host the Women Thrive Convening 2 on Friday, January 18 from 9 am to 1 pm. Brightening Thanksgiving for families in need

Thanksgiving dinner will be much brighter for 27 local families this year, thanks to Skagit Valley College students in the CHEF Club (Culinary Hospitality Education Foundation) and Phi Theta Kappa. Each family will receive a traditional holiday meal with all the trimmings, including a roasted turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, cranberries, corn, squash, veggie tray, sweet potatoes, rolls, and pumpkin pie.

Students create alters for Día de Los Muertos

Skagit Valley College Multicultural Student Services and the Program Board hosted the 3rd annual Día de Los Muertos altar competition. Clubs and area schools were invited to participate and the beautiful alters were displayed on the Mount Vernon Campus throughout the week.

On Saturday, September 29, Dr. Farhana Loonat, SVC Philosophy/Political Science instructor, organized a successful community outreach effort into the Punjabi community in the valley, launching the first annual Bhangra, a traditional folk dance.

Skagit Valley College hosted the annual SVC Powwow October 5-7 at the Mount Vernon Campus. The event will included drummers and dancers in full regalia from across the U.S. and Canada.
