Cost & Financing: 2022–2023 Academic Year

Total 30 credit program

Estimated cost for PRLEA academies:
  • Resident: $5,363.00
  • Non-Resident: $7,445.00
Estimated cost for additional Emergency Medical Responder course (EMR)
  • Resident: $720.00
  • Non-Resident: $1,014.09
Estimated cost for additional Wildland Firefighter course
  • Resident: $414.00
  • Non-Resident: $609.00
NOTE:
  • $1750.00 PRLEA Program Fee included in above Academy costs.
    ****Program Fee is NON-REFUNDABLE and is paid in the first quarter****
  • Cadets can expect to spend approximately $350.00 on uniform items.
  • EMR and Wildland Firefighter courses may require books and lab fees.
  • July 1 annually the State of Washington adopts new tuition and fees.

Scholarship Opportunity

The Commander William Overby Scholarship – $750.00

This scholarship was established by past cadets and friend of Commander Overby to commemorate his 20+ years of service at the academy. To apply for the scholarship, please send a minimum 200 word essay answering the following question:

What does it mean when a law enforcement officer has integrity?

Please include an introduction paragraph with details about yourself and any hardships/obstacles you have experienced on your path to attend the academy?
