In class painting sessions taught using indirect method (Old Master’s) oil painting techniques. Beginners will be shown methods to attain competent skills and techniques; experienced painters will attain a satisfying level of technical achievement through this methodical and challenging approach. Ceramics Workshop

Ceramics Workshop

All levels of interest and abilities are welcomed to work on self-guided projects in an open studio setting. Hand-building areas as well as pottery wheels are available for use. Some instruction in glazing will be offered. We use CKK6—a white firing stoneware body. We bisque work to ^04 and glaze fire in electric kilns to ^6. Instruction at all levels to maximize learning opportunities. Materials included, and most tools available. Bring an apron, and for wheel work a towel.

Glass Works: Stained Glass

Continuing Nosework

Discover the time-honored craft of stained glass. You will explore the process of creating a stained glass panel. Progress at your own pace and develop projects appropriate to your skill level–from light-catchers to lampshades. Topics to be covered include design and color as well as technical issues such as cutting, foiling and leading. Safety issues will be addressed in depth. All levels welcome. Basic materials are supplied (some glass, foil, lead and solder). There is a break mid-way through the course; a $55 material fee is paid to the instructor at first class.

Ballroom Dancing

Introduction to Flyfishing

This course focuses upon fly fishing for trout in western North America streams and lakes. The beginner will acquire sufficient knowledge and skill to start fly fishing and catch trout. The topics include: matching lines, rods, and reels; casting fly line; selecting leaders, knots, and tippets; learning about trout foods and related flies; basic fly tying; trout habitat and behavior; and fly fishing methods. About half of the classes will be actual “hands-on” learning by doing. There will be a couple optional Saturday classes as well.

Learn confidence and grace on the dance floor, and have some fun, while you learn the basics to two types of dances in this 8 week series. Tai ji quan (tai chi) is an ancient Chinese form of exercise which provides numerous health benefits: greater flexibility, core strength, balance, focus and concentration, relaxation, and improved immunity.
