On June 21, we were all saddened by the passing of our friend and colleague, Dr. Ernest Tutt. Ernest came to Skagit Valley College in March 2004, and in many ways, was a pioneer. His career at SVC as a tenured Communication Studies instructor—and his life—exemplify the principles of integrity, respect, honesty, and collaboration. Ernest never wavered in modeling those principles for all of us, no matter the situation. He was an inspiration and a model to students, faculty, staff, and community members.
