International Education Scholarship

Skagit Valley College is pleased to offer international students the opportunity to apply for our International Education Scholarships.

Scholarship Eligibility
New Students
Two $500 awards
  • Applicants must be new international students on an F-1 visa who have been accepted to SVC but have not yet enrolled in classes.
  • International students who are transferring to SVC from another school in the United States are eligible.
  • Scholarship recipients will be selected based on academic achievement, talent, involvement, and leadership.
Academic
Two $250 awardsIntensive English
One $250 award
  • Current F-1 students enrolled full-time in classes at SVC
  • Must have completed at least 15 credits at SVC by the time scholarship award begins
  • Have at least 1 full quarter remaining until graduation
  • Must have earned a minimum GPA of 3.5
Community Leadership
One $250 award
  • Current F-1 students enrolled full-time in classes at SVC
  • Must have completed at least 15 credits at SVC by the time scholarship award begins
  • Have at least 1 full quarter remaining until graduation
  • Must have earned a minimum GPA of 3.0

Note: Scholarship funds are tuition supplements or bookstore credits; no cash refund.

In order to be considered for a scholarship, students must submit the following items:

  • Application form – please write neatly and be sure to answer all questions
  • A personal statement (no more than 300 words) addressing these subjects: What is your career goal? How will studying abroad at Skagit Valley College help you achieve this goal?
  • Copy of your most recent transcript
  • 1 recommendation letter or a completed recommendation form (attached to application)

Deadline

  • Fall quarter: August 15
  • Winter quarter: November 15
  • Spring quarter: February 15

Note: ONLY COMPLETE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. All required application documents must be submitted to the International Program Office by 5pm PST on the due date. New student scholarship applications can be submitted via email to [email protected].
