Student Equity and Inclusion Services

Calling All Colors is open to ALL students. Modeled after the Native American Way of the Council, the club has one overall chair and the members alternate in positions of responsibility as committee chairs, thereby promoting leadership skill building. The club’s goals are to create a sense of belonging and to develop unity through diversity. This is done via community service, fund raising, social activity planning, community event programming and attending conferences throughout the Northwest. The club meets every Tuesday from 12:20 pm to 1:30 pm in Lewis Hall Room 228.

Maestros Para el Pueblo es un programa que motiva y guia a estudiantes Latinos y a sus familias a realizar sus metas de educacion superior, para certificarse como maestros y asi ser un modelo a seguir en nuestra comunidad de Skagit.

Maestros Para el Pueblo promueve el exito de sus estudiantes y concientiza la necesidad de maestros biculturales/bilingues especialmente en los distritos de Mount Vernon y Burlington.

What is Maestros Para el Pueblo?

Encourages and supports Latino/a students and their families to fulfill their higher education goals of becoming a certified teacher and a role model for our Skagit Valley Community.

Maestros Para el Pueblo promotes Latino/a student success and increases awareness and the need for bilingual/bicultural diverse teachers, especially in Mount Vernon and Burlington-Edison school districts.

The purpose of this club is to create a safe community of support for DREAMers students at Skagit Valley College. All students who would like to learn more about DREAMers, DREAMers rights, and on ways to support DREAMers, can join. Club meeting will be a safe place to discuss hard topics of dreamers, and/or students of immigrant/undocumented families. The club will help build support for undocumented students and building confidence. The club will also provide guidance and information.
