Before You Begin

Please note that all documents should be written in English or accompanied by an official English translation.

As part of Skagit Valley College policy, once you have submitted your application materials we will not return or make copies for you. It is your responsibility to make copies of materials before submitting them with your application.

Student applicants taking advantage of our NO TOEFL policy will be issued an I-20 for Language Training until proficiency has been met.

1. Fill Out the Online Application


Complete the International Student Online Application for admission. If you prefer, you may Click here to download a PDF version of the International Student Application for submission to International.Admissions@skagit.edu

2. Submit a Copy of Your Passport

Upload a copy of your passport using the secure link in the Online Application.

3. Submit Official Bank Statement

Upload a bank statement showing a balance of at least $24,710 USD for the student, and at least $10,600 per dependent using the secure link in the Online Application.  Also complete and upload the Certificate of Financial Responsibility (sponsor letter).

4. Submit a TOEFL Score (optional)


This is not be necessary for students who wish to take advantage of SVC's no TOEFL policy. The SVC code for your TOEFL score is 4699. See English Language Requirements page for details.

5. Submit Application Fee


For all students applying after December 15, 2025, please submit the non-refundable $50 USD application processing fee to the SVC Cashier.

If You are Transferring to SVC from another US College


International students attending college in the U.S. and who plan to transfer to Skagit Valley College should also submit:

  • Copy of I-94
  • Copy of all previous I-20’s issued
  • Transfer student information sheet completed by your current International Student Advisor
  • Copy of passport pages that contain student’s photograph and Visa information
