Graduation

Graduation means being awarded a state-approved diploma, certificate or degree once all of the requirements for that degree, certificate, or diploma have been successfully completed.

  • Participating in SVC's annual commencement ceremony also known as "walking" or "crossing the stage" does NOT mean that a student will automatically graduate.
  • Students MUST apply to graduate for all high school diplomas, associate degrees, and bachelor degrees.
  • Some certificates will be institutionally awarded with no application required. Students will be notified when their certificate is ready to be awarded.

Generally, students apply to graduate once their ctcLink What-If Report shows that they have completed all degree requirements including requirements that are in progress. Students should meet with their advisor prior to applying to graduate to assess their progress toward completion. This includes evaluating total credits and grade point average (GPA).

Apply to Graduate

Use ctcLink to apply to graduate beginning July 1, 2026 for summer quarter 2026 or after. If you need to apply to graduate from a previous quarter, email graduation@skagit.edu and provide the term you believe you qualify for graduation. If you plan to return to SVC to earn an additional degree or certificate, meet with an advisor to request a new degree plan.
