Mariachi Cardenales

Join Mariachi Cardenales, Skagit Valley College’s new Mariachi ensemble!

This ensemble, under the direction of Rene Godina, is a performance-oriented group focusing on traditional Mexican music appropriate to the student’s skill level. We concentrate on correct instrumental techniques, music reading skills, memorization, ear training, and stage presence. Instrumentation for this ensemble includes Violin, Guitarron, Vihuela, Trumpet, and Voice. We have every type of mariachi instrument available for students to rent for free. Experience isn’t required but is a plus!

How do I join?

You can join the ensemble by enrolling in MUSC 165 or through Continuing and Community Education. This class also covers the humanities requirement for graduation. No additional fees are required.

Join us in playing wonderful music and putting SVC on the map as a special place for Mariachi.

When: Every Mon. and Wed. | 4-6 p.m.
