Job seekers are invited to attend the Skagit Valley College career fair on May 21 featuring more than 71 local employers. The event will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Knutzen Cardinal Center on the Mount Vernon Campus and is free and open to the public.

This event will feature local employers recruiting from many industries including diesel, automotive, manufacturing, welding, marine technology, health services, and more.

Current students, alumni, and community members seeking jobs and internships can attend. Participants should bring resumes, dress professionally, have questions for employers, and be prepared to follow up with companies and positions of interest.

Here are some potential questions for employers:

  • What are you looking for in a candidate?
  • What are the biggest challenges that you face in this job?
  • What would a typical work day be like?
  • What are the most important components of this position?
