GP-7 – Memorials
MEMORIALS
Skagit Valley College and the Board of Trustees intend that when a memorial is placed at a college location, it is consistent with the College’s mission, vision, and guiding principles.
Memorials will recognize deceased individuals who have had a significant association with the College. It is the intent of the Board of Trustees that memorials will be made with the perspective of time and will maintain consistency with the College’s Facilities Master Plan and design standards.
The Board intends that consideration to place a memorial be initiated no earlier than one year following death. Furthermore, the Board of Trustees intends that memorials may be made through the planting of a tree or placement of a bench consistent with the Facilities Master Plan.
The Board of Trustees delegates authority to the College President for approval and placement of memorials consistent with the principles stated herein.
