There are three ways to receive tutoring assistance.
1. Online tutoring offered through Skagit Valley College
Students are able to meet via video chat or phone with the same Tutors that work on Mt. Vernon and Whidbey Island campuses drop-in tutoring centers. To learn more about how to use SVC’s online tutoring and get started, accept the invite to join the SVC Tutoring Canvas page. Winter Quarter 2021 Schedule
- Monday / Wednesday / Friday: 11 am – 4 pm | 6 – 8 pm
- Tuesday / Thursday: 11 am – 4 pm | 6 – 9 pm
- Saturday: 11 am – 3 pm
- Sunday: 4 – 6 pm | 7 – 9 pm
Limited In-Person Tutoring Sessions
Limited in-person tutoring sessions are available on the Mount Vernon Campus. Appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Each in-person session will be no more than 30 minutes. Students coming to campus for in-person sessions must fill out and submit an online check-in/checkout form before arriving. Visit the SVC Security homepage for more information.

ALL students are able to access online tutoring through the Western eTutoring Consortium at any time of year. This service is always open to all students, even during regular campus operations. If you have questions about Western’s eTutoring Consortium, please contact Claver Hategekimana.

3. Online Writing Center assistance
ALL students are able to access online support for writing (whether English courses or any other class) at any time of year. This service is always open to all students, even during regular campus operations. If you have questions about the Writing Center’s services, please contact Jennifer Handley.
