Open Doors

Open Doors is a competency-based high school completion program for eligible individuals who are 17-20 years of age who are deficient in high school credits. High school competency requirements may be met through high school and college coursework and/or prior learning gained from work and life experience. Unmet requirements may be achieved through additional coursework at SVC.

Eligibility

You can apply for the Open Doors program if you meet the following criteria:

  • Are at least 17 and under 21 years of age;
  • Have not met high school graduation requirements;
  • Currently not attending or enrolled in high school OR you have been recommended for enrollment by case managers from DSHS, juvenile justice, school district, or community agencies.

How to Apply

Applications are available from your local high school or by emailing [email protected]. Acceptance into the Open Doors program is based on eligibility, school district approval, and the SVC Open Doors director’s approval.

How to Register for Classes

After official approval of your application, an SVC Open Doors Navigator will meet with you and assist you in enrolling in classes and developing an education plan.

What is the Cost?

There is no cost for students who are accepted into the program.
