Outcomes & Program Review

Outcomes & Program Review

Program Review at Skagit Valley College involves an annual review of data and implementation of strategies to improve student outcomes. Program review runs on a 4 year cycle and culminates in a report that include 3 years worth of data, including outcomes assessment data. Faculty implement major program changes based on analysis of their 3 years of data collection.

Each year, program faculty analyze program data, set program goals, and identify strategies to reach those goals. SVC’s Institutional Research office provides program faculty with data from the following areas:

  • Student Access (data on enrollment and demographics)
  • Student Achievement (data on transition and completion)
  • Student Learning ( faculty collect data on outcomes that are mopped to their courses.
  • Student Satisfaction (data collected through surveys and course evaluations on perception of program learning, quality, resources, and equity)

This is an iterative process of continual program improvement, and as such, is not related to program viability or faculty evaluation.
