The best way to secure financial aid for education is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) OR the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA).

SVC Foundation Scholarships
The Skagit Valley College Foundation offers a wide variety of scholarships every year to eligible students. We have an amazing donor community!

Community and Local Scholarships
Skagit Valley College’s community partner, Futures Northwest, offers a one-stop-shop for local and community scholarships offered in the Whatcom, Skagit, and Island Counties. To explore their extensive list of scholarships, click below and and navigate to their scholarship section.
Resources for Washington State Residents
The College Success Foundation is an educational nonprofit that serves students in Washington state and the District of Columbia. They provide resources and assistance to underserved populations, low-income students, first-generation college students, and foster youth. They manage a variety of scholarship opportunities. To learn more, click below.
The College Success Foundation
The WashBoard is a free scholarship matching site for Washington State residents and students attending college in Washington State. Students start by creating a Applicant Profile. The WashBoard then matches your profile with scholarship opportunities that you may qualify for or be interested in. To learn more, click below.
Students can also learn more about financial aid programs offered in Washington State by visiting the Washington Student Achievement Council's (WSAC) website for financial aid programs. WSAC offers programs that are Need-Based, Merit-Based, and also several Workforce Programs.
CareerOneStop Scholarship Tool
The U.S. Department of Labor offers a free resource hub and search tool called CareerOneStop. This website offers a wide variety of resources for career exploration, training, jobs, and scholarships. Their scholarship database hosts over 9,500 scholarships, fellowships, grants, and other financial aid opportunities.
Workforce Grant Funding
Students can also complete the SVC Workforce Grants Eligibility Questionnaire by visiting the SVC Workforce Grants Funding webpage. The Workforce Grants department offers scholarships, resources, and support for eligible students pursuing education or training in professional technical programs and pre-college skills.
Need help with your essay?
Students can drop-in to the SVC Writing Center to get in-person help with scholarship applications and essays. Talking with a consultant is a great way to learn how scholarship application essays are different from academic essays. Students can also receive online support at skagit.mywconline.com.
