Transfer Student Admissions

Western Washington University brings dedicated programs directly to the Puget Sound and Central Salish Sea regions. We want you to be able to learn where you live, so we’ve specially designed education, business, sustainability, and cybersecurity bachelor’s degree programs that are tailored for students in your region, students transferring from community colleges, and students looking to learn online.

WWU's Guaranteed Transfer Admissions means that Skagit Vallet College students can who complete a transferable associate’s degree and meet the eligibility requirements, are guaranteed admission to Western Washington University.

You’re guaranteed admission if you:

  • Earn an AA-DTA or AS-T degree from Skagit Valley College
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 both in the last quarter before your application and the quarter just before enrolling
  • Submit WWU’s transfer application

Tips for Students

  • You submit WWU’s transfer application  so  watch for priority deadlines. Late applications may be accepted if space allows.
  • Talk to your SVC advisor early to set your Education Plan as a way to ensure your courses align with AA-DTA or AS-T degrees and meet the GPA requirements.
  • Apply on time to ensure your application is submitted on time.
  • Know the difference: Guaranteed admission is to the university overall, not necessarily to a specific major as majors may still require additional applications or prerequisites.
