Program Admissions
The dəxʷx̌ayəbus Dental Therapy Program is a selective admissions program with one (1) cohort accepted each year. Cohorts begin each Summer Quarter (i.e., Summer 2026, Summer 2027, etc.).
All applicants are reviewed individually based on admission requirements and review criteria.
Admissions Requirements

Have a High School diploma or higher degree certificate.

Be 18 years or older at the time of application submission.

Submit proof of 50 hours of dental-related (paid and/or unpaid) experience OR a Confirmation of Dental Experience Form (50 hours).

Upload official transcripts.

Provide letters of recommendation.

Complete the preceptorship site Letter of Intent.

Passing a comprehensive background check (including a national multi-state criminal background check). *Student pays

Passing a drug screening *Student pays
-
Proof of current immunizations/vaccinations (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, MMR, hepatitis B, varicella, annual influenza, COVID vaccination & booster, and negative Tuberculosis evaluation).

Proof of health insurance.

4 Complete the Dental Therapy Application
You must complete the application in full, including uploads of required documents.

Review Process
Applicants who complete the admissions steps will:

Be reviewed based on admissions requirements.

If eligible, be invited to a formal interview.

Competitive candidates will receive provisional acceptance.

Full acceptance is granted only after successfully meeting all secondary review criteria (immunizations, health insurance, background check, drug screening, etc.).
