High Demand, Diverse Career Track

The Nursing program at Skagit Valley College is designed to prepare you for a lifelong career in nursing practice. Nursing is one of the most diverse and exciting careers in today’s healthcare field. Nurses are employed in a variety of settings including hospitals, extended care centers, home health care agencies, physicians’ offices, mental health facilities, and corrections.

Effective Immediately:

The SVC Nursing Admission Committee has decided that while we will still require students who are applying to SVC’s RN program to take the TEAS, we will not be requiring any category or overall minimums be met. Students will receive points based on the Total Score.

Nursing requires strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, focused concentration when performing a task, attention to detail, the ability to work well with others, and extensive knowledge of the sciences.

Winter 2025 Full-Time RN | Whidbey Island Campus


Application to SVC completed by Sept. 2, 2024.

Previously applied students, please choose what applies to you:

  1. If a student has applied but never attended SVC, they must resubmit after one year
  2. If a student has attended SVC within the last two years (8 quarters), they do not need to resubmit an application
  3. If it has been more than two years since last attending SVC, they need to submit a new application

If you are applying as a new student for the RN program only, you do not need to attend a new student orientation. Please disregard any emails you may receive pertaining to new student orientation.

Transcript(s) Evaluation Request Form for all non-SVC courses must be submitted by Sept.16, 2024. All prerequisite courses must be completed and on your transcript by this date.  
  • Last day to take TEAS Oct. 18, 2024
  • Nursing Application packet due on or before Oct. 22, 2024 by 5 p.m. Postmark can be no later than 5 p.m. Oct. 22, 2024
  • Notifications mailed out on or before Nov. 4, 2024
  • Mandatory intake Mid-November 2024
  • Classes begin early Jan. 2025

Spring 2025 Full-Time RN | Mount Vernon Campus


Application to SVC completed by Nov. 14, 2024. Please choose from below what applies to you:

  1. If a student has submitted an application and never attended SVC, they must resubmit after one year.
  2. If a student has attended SVC within the last two years (8 quarters), they do not need to resubmit an application.
  3. If a student has attended SVC more than two years ago, they must submit a new application.
  4. New SVC student: If you are applying as a new student for the RN program only, you do not need to attend a new student orientation. Please disregard any emails you may receive pertaining to new student orientation.

Transcript(s) Evaluation Request Form and official transcripts for all non-SVC courses to be submitted by Nov. 28, 2024

    • If you need to take a class(es) in Fall 2024 to be eligible for Spring 2025 entry, take at SVC so it will not need to be transferred in. Fall courses needing to be transferred in will miss the deadline.
  • Last day to take TEAS Jan. 20, 2025
  • Nursing Application packet due Jan. 22, 2025 by 5 p.m. Must be postmarked no later than 5 p.m. on Jan. 22, 2025.

Fall 2025 RN | Mount Vernon Campus


Application to be an SVC students completed by April 1, 2025.

  1. If a student has submitted an application and never attended SVC, they must resubmit after one year.
  2. If a student has attended SVC within the last two years (8 quarters), they do not need to resubmit an application.
  3. If it has been more than two years since last attending SVC, they need to submit a new application.

If you need to take a class(es) in Spring 2025 to be eligible for Fall 2025 entry, take them at SVC so they will not need to be transferred in.   • Last day to take TEAS: June 20, 2025.
  • Nursing Application packet due June 27, 2025 by 5 p.m. Mail postmark must be June 27, 2025 by 5 p.m.
  • Notifications mailed out on or before July 11, 2025.
  • Mandatory intake for accepted RN students will be July 28, 2025.
  • First day of class mid to late Sept. 23, 2025.
SVC has not determined that the Nursing curriculum meets educational requirements for licensure/certification outside of Washington State. Students who plan to work in locations outside of Washington should check local state licensure and certification requirements.
