The Pharmacy Technician program prepares students for the role of support personnel in the hospital, clinical, home health care agencies, mail-order and retail pharmacies. Working under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, Pharmacy Technicians provide assistance to the pharmacist in a variety of tasks involving the packaging, distribution, compounding, labeling, and recording of drugs.

Tuition and Fees

Subject to change by the Washington state legislature and/or the Skagit Valley College Board of Trustees. All students pay a Student Technology Fee of $5.00 per credit ($40 maximum), a Student Self-Assessed Fee of $1.50 per credit ($15 maximum), a General Fee of $4.50 ($67.50 maximum) and a Technology Fee of $10.00 per credit.

The average cost to educate a resident full-time community or technical college student for the 2018-19 academic year is $8,640. Students pay an average of $3,192 in tuition toward this cost. The remaining $5,448 is an “opportunity pathway” provided by the State and is funded by state taxes and other sources. The amounts shown are averages for a full-time, resident student. The actual tuition a student pays will vary due to credit load, residency status and other factors.

Tuition Payment Plan

A Tuition Payment Plan allows students to make payments on their tuition over the course of a quarter. Students must make a down payment of 40% of their tuition and a $30.00 processing fee. For more information contact:

Fee Changes (2019)

The Skagit Valley College Board of Trustees approved an increase to tuition in June 2019. In addition, the Skagit Valley College Board of Trustees approved several fee changes in May 2019. These fees will go into effect Summer Quarter 2019, and the tuition increase will go into effect Fall Quarter 2019.
