Student Government

The Associated Students of Skagit Valley College (ASSVC) represents you as a student of the College. You are a member of the ASSVC if you are enrolled in classes at SVC. Through the ASSVC and its legislative body—which you help to elect—govern themselves and share in policy-making within the administrative structure of the College. Students participate with faculty, staff and administrators to determine College policy by serving on institutional committees. The ASSVC Campus Presidents and other students make reports to the college’s Board of Trustees at their monthly meetings.

Elections for the executive officers, and two-thirds of the legislature, are held during Spring Quarter for the next school year. Elections for the remainder of the representative positions are held in Fall Quarter.

The regular meetings of the ASSVC are open to all students, faculty, and staff. The exact date, time and location of the meetings will be posted in the Student Government office on both campuses.

The weekly regular meeting of the Mount Vernon Campus Associated Students of Skagit Valley College (ASSVC) takes place every Friday at 11:30 am. Meetings are held in either C-175, in northwest corner of the Gary Knutzen Cardinal Center.

The weekly meeting of the Whidbey Island Campus Associated Students of Skagit Valley College takes place every Friday at 9:00AM in Oak Hall room 204.
