Summer Bridge — ¡Pa’ delante!
What is Summer Bridge?
Skagit Valley College is launching a new program – Summer Bridge – Pa’ delante – this summer 2023. Summer Bridge is a free program for first-generation, underrepresented graduating seniors. It is designed to support graduating seniors who will be attending SVC in the fall of 2023.
As a Summer Bridge participant, you will:
- Be part of a 75-student cohort of new, incoming SVC students.
- Get a successful transition experience to support you in starting college in the fall.
- Receive College Success Skills as part of a culturally relevant curriculum.
- Get connected with mentors and opportunities to get involved on campus.
- Get comprehensive in-person orientation support, including technology access and setup, referral to special programs (CAMP, TRIO, Disability Access Services, Maestros Para El Pueblo, etc.), student engagement opportunities, and initial registration into classes.
- Get free college credits to get you started!
When is the program?
The program will take place Monday-Thursday, Aug. 1- 31, 2023, with a mandatory orientation on July 31.
- Summer Bridge Orientation: 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Monday, July 31
- Summer Bridge Program: 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Monday-Thursday, Aug. 1-3

Who is eligible?
- Be a graduating high school senior from any high school during 2023.
- Identify as a first-generation college student.
- Plan to attend Skagit Valley College in the fall of 2023 (September).
