Join us for the film showing and discussion of Mixteco Kid!
A Mixteco boy who dreams to be like his fútbol hero, overcomes the forces of prejudice and poverty to become a soccer sensation and heal a divided community. The film captures the struggles through a story that shows how one determined person can achieve success and change perceptions and help heal a divided community. Mixteco Kid has been selected as a finalist by notable screenwriting festivals in México and the U.S. Join us for a 15 minute film screening and a follow up discussion/conversation with the writer and director Miguel Orozco and actor Celso Guevara as special guests.
