The Pharmacy Technician program prepares students for the role of support personnel in the hospital, clinical, home health care agencies, mail-order and retail pharmacies. Working under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, Pharmacy Technicians provide assistance to the pharmacist in a variety of tasks involving the packaging, distribution, compounding, labeling, and recording of drugs.
Accuplacer Assessment Tool
What is the Accuplacer Assessment Tool?
The Accuplacer assessment tools is used to determine your starting place in English and Mathematics. It is also used as a prerequisite to additional courses you may take. There is no “passing” score. Scores indicate areas in which you are strong and areas in which you may need to improve your skills.
Accuplacer is a computer-based assessment and is not timed. Whatever the results, Skagit Valley College has a starting place for you. For general information about the assessment, see: https://accuplacer.collegeboard.org/
Registering for and Taking the Accuplacer Test
Please choose the location below that will best serve you for more details regarding the schedule process. Arrive fifteen minutes before your scheduled testing time. A current photo ID and Student ID number (or receipt of payment if a Non-SVC Student/ retaking test) is required. Note that test start times are absolute and the testing room will be closed after tests have begun. Late arrivals will need to make another appointment.
Testing Location: Lewis Hall Room L206 – 2405 East College Way, Mount Vernon, WA 98273
To schedule an Accuplacer appointment, you will need your Student Identification number (SID) and PIN. If you do not know your SID and PIN, please call the Mount Vernon Enrollment Services office at 360.416.7700 or visit the Enrollment Services desk in Lewis Hall on the first floor. Individuals needing accommodations should contact Disability Access Services at 360.416.7958.
Testing Location: Hayes Hall Room 109 – 1900 SE Pioneer Way, Oak Harbor, WA 98277
To schedule an Accuplacer appointment, you will need your Student Identification number (SID) and PIN. Taking the Accuplacer Test as a Non-Student
If you are not planning to attend SVC but need to take the Accuplacer test, there is a $25 test fee which is payable at the Cashier’s Office.Proof of this payment and a phone number or social security number is required to schedule your test.
Preparing for the Accuplacer Test
Study to take the Accuplacer test! We do recommend you prepare to take the assessment before you actually do, so your results are accurate reflection of your knowledge.

Accuplacer also offers a free website to help you prepare for the assessment at https://accuplacerpractice.collegeboard.org/login.
Here you will create an account, select Accuplacer Next Generation as your test, and start studying! FYI, at SVC, we do not proctor the Writing section of the test.

Retaking the Accuplacer Test
You may request a re-assessment in any of the Accuplacer subjects. The cost is $25. Students will be placed into classes using the highest score.
