If you are a high school graduate, transferring from another college, recently laid off and in need of retraining, pursuing a new career, or ready to become a skilled worker, you belong here! Use the following checklist below as a guide to becoming an SVC Cardinal. If you have questions or need clarification along the way, contact one of our campuses or centers listed in the contact info section of this page.

Apply


Submit an application through the Online Admissions Application Portal (OAAP). Please keep in mind that students will need to create a new account before applying. This application can take up to 10 business days to process. You will then receive a link to the SVC Application Supplement, a customized questionnaire to help us learn more about your goals. Please keep in mind you will need to have a personal email account in order to apply. International Students: Click here to apply.

Explore and Apply for Funding


SVC offers numerous programs and services to assist you with funding your education. Please explore the list of programs and services.

Activating Student ctcLink Account


Students must activate their student account ctclink account prior to enrollment. Visit: https://myaccount.ctclink.us/. Step-by-Step visual guides are available.

Attestation/Exemption Requirements


Not applicable for students taking online courses exclusively.

Students wanting to attend in-person courses and services must self-attest to being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or request a medical or religious exemption if they want to come to campus to access classes or student services. This is done through ctcLink, students must be admitted first. Online only students do not need to submit anything. Visit skagit.edu/covid for more information and to access the forms.

Establish Placement


There are multiple options to determine your starting point and courses.

Enroll in Classes at a Cardinal Take-off Advising Session)


As a new student and once you have your course placement, you will want to meet with an Advisor in- person or remotely for your Cardinal Take Off- Session. At Cardinal Take Off you will be able to register for your first quarter of classes! We will email you an invitation to your Cardinal Take-Off session once you have completed your course placement. If you have questions about these sessions, please contact our Counseling and Advising office at [email protected] or by calling 360.416.7654.

Activate Your SVC Email Account


After you submit the Application Supplement, an SVC email account will be created for you and you will receive instructions on how to set up your password. Receive help with your account, visit skagit.edu/createmysvc

Complete Cardinal Pre-Flight Orientation


This online, self-paced orientation is hosted within your SVC Canvas student tool box account. You will need your MySVC account activated and know your password. Learn about SVC programs, educational pathways, resources, and more!
